The Solidarity for Development Biodiversity Classroom is set up as a support for the Oxygen Project that since 2006 has been held in six prisons throughout Spain, and the objective is to raise awareness among the prison population about the values of care and respect for the environment.

This programme aims to provide inmates with tools for their social and labour insertion within the scope of natural parks and gardens.

The Biodiversity Classroom aims to complement this training with a series of conferences on environmental issues by leading researchers and professors in this field. This is intended to raise awareness among inmates and their social network about caring for the environment and their closest natural heritage.

At the same time, it is intended to evaluate and define the state of conservation of an environment as opaque to the outside as a prison and to provide inmates with knowledge to develop sustainable actions.
