Mycology and employment: fungi as a source of employment, sustainable development and economic diversification in rural areas

The potential of the different uses of the forest go hand in hand in this project with the sustainable use of edible wild mushrooms.

This initiative aims to create employment in rural areas, through the exploitation of the endogenous resource represented by edible wild mushrooms. The specific objectives have been proposed:

Collaboration between the different municipalities to achieve employment in natural areas.
Sustainable use of forests (fungal forestry) as a new source of employment in economically disadvantaged areas.
Development of employment potential.
Training for the training of young people in rural areas without qualifications and women in the reconversion phase to take advantage of all the potential for job creation.
Involvement of all social partners in rural areas.
Transfer of results to the groups directly or indirectly linked to the participating municipalities, to other municipalities with mycological potential.
