By holding a travelling and virtual exhibition commemorating the Year of Biodiversity, the aim is to raise public awareness of the importance of preserving biodiversity.

By holding a travelling and virtual exhibition commemorating the Year of Biodiversity, the aim is to raise public awareness of the importance of preserving biodiversity.

The virtual exhibition is accompanied by publications and articles from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) related to biodiversity, links to thematic portals for dissemination of biodiversity, an agenda of activities and teaching units aimed at secondary education.

The exhibition will present the factors that pose a danger to biodiversity and the initiatives or proposals aimed at its conservation.

The specific objectives of the project are:

• To bring accessible and relevant information on biodiversity, generated from scientific research, to the citizens of different Spanish localities.
• To make accessible materials and information available to Spanish-speaking citizens through the Internet.
• To generate teaching units on biodiversity for use in secondary education.
