The project “A leadership role for the Spanish presidency of the EU on biodiversity” aims to organise specific activities to support the Spanish presidency of the EU and Spanish and EU environmental organisations.

The project “A leadership role for the Spanish presidency of the EU on biodiversity” aims to organise specific activities to support the Spanish presidency of the EU and Spanish and EU environmental organisations.

The aim is to integrate aspects of European biodiversity into political agendas.

The project falls within the period coinciding with the European Presidency of the European Union, during the first half of 2010, and with the International Year of Biodiversity,

The European Environmental Bureau (EEB), established in 1974, is an NGO whose aim is to be the voice of European citizens on environmental justice, sustainable development and participatory democracy. The Biodiversity Foundation has supported the EEB in successive years, for the execution of projects linked to environmental justice and activities related to water and biodiversity.

Various events will be organized until June 2010 to achieve the objective of the project. On January 25, 2010 the conference: “Biodiversity post 2010” will be held.
