The main objective of the project is to implement an organic farming model on a seven-hectare farm, and to transfer the methodologies and technological knowledge to farmers in the area.
The initiative will lead to an increase in biodiversity and an improvement of the landscape with the use of local horticultural varieties. Hedges will be introduced alternating them with native species to surround the plots and increase trophic resources.
The first step consists of the conditioning of farmland (sowing, preparation of ditches, etc.). Later, a hedge will be planted to act as a boundary. In addition, a management system for adventitious (unwanted) weeds will be modeled and local varieties will be planted.
A meeting with farmers, a course for initiation to organic farming and informative days will also be organized to present the results obtained.
