The main objective of this project is to achieve a significant reduction in the illegal use of poison in several autonomous communities.
In particular, the aim is to reduce the use of venom in the network of SPAs (Special Protection Area for Birds), in which this problem is one of the main causes of mortality for some of the most endangered species in Europe, such as the Iberian imperial eagle, the bearded vulture, the red kite or the Egyptian vulture (including the Canarian subspecies).
The following specific objectives stand out:
- Adoption of action plans and action protocols for the fight against poison.
- Direct actions to combat the illegal use of poisoned baits.
- To make the poisoner frowned upon by society.
- Limit access to or improve the use of legal toxic products.
- Legal action against poisoning cases.
