This initiative seeks to promote the sustainability of economic activities related to the rural tourism sector.
This initiative seeks to promote the sustainability of economic activities related to the rural tourism sector.
Through an itinerant campaign to raise awareness of sustainable rural tourism, aimed at workers in SMEs and rural accommodation, the aim is to promote the environmental aspects of rural tourism and, subsequently, to analyse the sustainability of companies in terms of energy efficiency, water consumption and selective waste separation. In this way, recommendations can be made that minimise the environmental impact and favour the sustainability of economic activity.
Likewise, the degree of innovation of the companies will be analysed, in order to propose green business lines that can be financed through instruments of aid to environmental R+D+i, thus being able to exploit the potential for reconverting rural tourism into a sustainable economic activity.
On the other hand, the training courses aim to train the self-employed, managers and workers of SMEs and rural accommodation, especially from disadvantaged sectors, in issues related to sustainable rural tourism, the environment and R+D+i, to promote a highly competitive business fabric and encourage the incorporation of sustainable practices into their economic activities
