MITECO

The objective of this project is to obtain scientific data to analyze the causes of the degradation of the riparian forest, to know the hydrology and to propose management measures to reverse the situation and conserve the species and habitats of this wetland.

The objective of this project is to obtain scientific data to analyze the causes of the degradation of the riparian forest, to know the hydrology and to propose management measures to reverse the situation and conserve the species and habitats of this wetland.

Specifically, it seeks to know the hydrological functioning of the Sebes wetland, study the characteristics and degree of affectation of the riparian vegetation, obtain agreements for a management appropriate to conservation criteria with the administrations and companies involved in the operation of the wetland, as well as disseminate the importance of hydrological management in the wetlands and the species and habitats affected.

The planned actions are as follows:

  • Identification of the causes that cause the degradation of the riparian forest and the wetland.
  • Quantification of the degree of impact on the forest and wetland.
  • Environmental awareness and education.
  • Drafting of a document of conclusions and action plan, together with other complementary activities, to facilitate decision-making.
