The main objective of the project is to consolidate a sustainable agroforestry development strategy and an agricultural cooperative in the city of Nouadhibou, in Mauritania, allowing job creation and social integration while developing a green belt in the area.

The main objective of the project is to consolidate a sustainable agroforestry development strategy and an agricultural cooperative in the city of Nouadhibou, in Mauritania, allowing job creation and social integration while developing a green belt in the area.

More specifically, it is intended to:

• To analyze, diagnose and carry out a strategy for the agroecological development of Nouadhibou.
• Install an irrigation network and an agroforestry nursery that will allow the development of the city’s green belt in the medium term.

The specific actions planned are the following:

• Analysis and diagnosis of pests and diseases of flora and fauna, as well as organic recycling possibilities.
• Courses on agroecology in general, agroecological planning and agricultural cooperativism.
• Implementation of a general distribution network and a drip irrigation network for the plots included in the project, as well as verification of their operation.
• Conditioning of space, facilities and first planting of the municipal nursery.
