This initiative proposes to improve the environmental performance of SMEs in the logistics-port sector. In this regard, it is essential to train their managers and workers in the implementation of environmental management systems and energy efficiency systems that can be certified according to international standards.

This initiative proposes to improve the environmental performance of SMEs in the logistics-port sector. In this regard, it is essential to train their managers and workers in the implementation of environmental management systems and energy efficiency systems that can be certified according to international standards.

The project is aimed at SMEs and self-employed professionals in the logistics sector, port subsector and emerging sectors such as renewable energies and energy efficiency in the Valencian Community. It includes both professionals in the sector and operators. The initiative also aims to promote and improve employment in the environmental field.

The aim is for a significant number of small companies in the logistics-port sector to achieve the levels of implementation of environmental management systems provided for in the Ecoport guide (published by the Port Authority of Valencia), as well as the levels of energy efficiency management proposed by the Polytechnic University of Valencia.

As for environmental management systems, the goal is to get companies certified in ISO 14000 and EMAS. With regard to energy efficiency, the mission is to train companies and their workers to achieve certification in accordance with the provisions of the corresponding AENOR standard. Finally, among other actions of the project, it is intended to provide SMEs with tools that allow monitoring and control for continuous improvement.
