The main objective of the project is to contribute to ensuring that Spanish and African civil society has information and collaborates with their individual and collective actions to mitigate the problem of climate change and eradicate poverty.

IPADE has been carrying out an awareness campaign called “Climate Change and the Fight against Poverty” since 2006, integrated into the Climate Change and Fight Against Poverty Working Group of the Coordinator of NGDOs of Spain. This initiative is included in this initiative, which is committed to the inclusion of climate risks in development initiatives, with special emphasis on mitigation and adaptation to the phenomenon of climate change.

The specific actions planned are the following:

• Searching for information, designing a regional study, collecting and analysing data and preparing a report on climate change and the fight against poverty.
• Dissemination of these results through conferences, preparation of informative materials, or workshops.
• Organization of working meetings and permanence of a monitoring committee on integrated climate change and the fight against poverty.
• Identification of a pilot project on climate change mitigation and/or adaptation to be developed between the African organizations and NGOs of the working group.
