This project aims to validate and transfer a fire risk management model based on the promotion of sustainable forest management and other agricultural activities.
The aim is to improve the efficiency of the resources allocated to the fight against forest fires and promoting rural development, through the co-responsibility and awareness of forest owners.
The lack of profitability of forest harvesting and the lack of knowledge about the current behaviour of forest fires means that the owners of these lands have a passive role in the face of fire or are only involved in times of emergency.
Numerous studies show that acting on percentages of less than 5% of the territory achieves an increase in extinguishing efficiency of more than 70%.
