This initiative aims to preserve the rural and agricultural landscape of Altea through the fight against climate change and against the decrease in biodiversity associated with this type of ecosystem, as well as through the promotion of agricultural activity and, especially, organic agriculture.

The project aims to conserve and boost agricultural activity, relieve the pressure of the urban landscape and familiarize society with sustainable food production methods and healthy and responsible consumption.

The specific actions of this project are:

• “Tu mateix: Collect it yourself, pay for it right there and take it home”: This is about citizens going to farms and picking up the fruit and vegetables they want to buy themselves.
• Installation of a stall of organic products in the market of Altea.
• Creation of organic gardens in schools.
• Creation of organic urban gardens.
• Use vermiculture as a method of fertilizer production for urban and school gardens.
• Organization of the Ecoaltea fair, held in October 2008.
• Celebration of organic farming days.
• Holding talks in schools on healthy nutrition.
• Creation of the water archive and two water-related hiking routes.
