This project seeks to gain a deeper understanding of the erosion suffered between 1987 and 2002 in the agricultural and forest areas of the autonomous community of Catalonia.

This project seeks to gain a deeper understanding of the erosion suffered between 1987 and 2002 in the agricultural and forest areas of the autonomous community of Catalonia.

To this end, two actions are developed. On the one hand, a study on erosive dynamics based on the available cartographic information and following the methodology established by ICONA in the definition of different erosive states, through filtering and reclassification by analytical combination of pairs of raster images or thematic layers.

The areas of greatest erosion are also located through frequency analysis taking into account the different administrative divisions, SPAs (Special Protection Areas for Birds) and natural areas of special protection.

Based on the results obtained from previous studies, Unió de Pagesos de Catalunya will proceed to prepare a proposal for corrective measures for these impacts.
