Through this project it is intended to reduce the negative impact generated in recent years in the peri-urban forests of Vigo, ensuring their conservation and a responsible and sustainable use of them.

The specific objective is to train and raise awareness of environmental sustainability among different groups and SMEs in the municipality of Vigo. This means promoting the training of workers; guaranteeing specific training in accordance with the environmental needs of Vigo and the recipients; to create an environmental observatory that allows the territorial environmental situation to be known and analyzed; Prepare a study to identify new professional profiles in the field of the environment.

Likewise, the initiative involves:

• Promote the environmental responsibility of companies so that they adapt their activities to environmental regulations.
• Concentrate efforts and resources to promote the participation of neighbourhood forest communities in the project.
• To promote and encourage social cohesion on the part of the entities and agents involved in the conservation of forests.
• Develop a comprehensive work strategy based on cooperation between the environmental agents of the municipality.
• Guarantee the application of the principle of equal opportunities from the gender perspective in all project actions and promote respect for this principle by all project recipients.
• To promote the use of new information and communication technologies both in the actions of execution of the project and in its management and evaluation.
