The main objective of the project is to improve the ecological status of the Las Closes de la Fonollera estate through the recovery of its natural habitats.

The main objective of the project is to improve the ecological status of the Las Closes de la Fonollera estate through the recovery of its natural habitats.

The aim is to eliminate invasive plant species from the farm and restore the areas where they have been eliminated; recover the dune system and order the public use of the property. To this end, the following actions are planned:

  • Removal of Cortaderia selloana and Robinia pseudoacacia.
  • Creation of a wetland area in the Closa del Mas del Roig and a series of temporary flood basins for amphibians in the Closa de la Fonollera.
  • Reforestation of the riparian forest with native species and placement of nest boxes.
  • Delimitation of the dune system with fences to prevent the passage of vehicles, installation of sand retention screens to stabilize new dunes and installation of walkways for access on foot to the beach.
  • Construction of a wildlife observatory.
  • Installation of informative posters on the natural values of the property.
  • Adaptation of a path that connects the two plots with other nearby areas of interest.
