The main objective of the project is the creation of a pest and disease warning service, as well as to calculate the water needs of the crop, through a statistical study of the various agroclimatic models provided by the weather stations placed in different parts of the Burgos valley of Las Caderechas.
To this end, agroclimatic models will be validated for real-time warning of pests and diseases and the efficacy of different phytosanitary treatments authorised in organic farming will be checked.
In order to improve the water management of the farms, an automatic drip irrigation system will be activated. To this end, a series of actions will be developed, starting with the collection and processing of data from weather stations. A computer application will also be used to contrast the models and see the relationship between pests and climatic conditions.
In addition, specific phytosanitary treatments for organic farming will be applied and field inspections will be carried out to verify the effects of pests and diseases, as well as the treatments tested.
All data will be integrated into a GIS (Geographic Information Systems).
