The project aims to quantify and model the consequences of the decrease in the extensive livestock stock rate on the biodiversity and landscape of the Cantabrian mountain passes, as well as its implications for the recovery of the bearded vulture.
The project aims to quantify and model the consequences of the decrease in the extensive livestock stock rate on the biodiversity and landscape of the Cantabrian mountain passes, as well as its implications for the recovery of the bearded vulture.
To this end, using a GIS (Geographic Information System) tool, an experimental territory is selected within the Picos de Europa National Park, where biological evolution from the mid-twentieth century to the present day is analyzed.
Likewise, the existing graphic information in digital format, the studies already developed on some environmental variables to be used and the information that pastoralists can provide are used.
