Participatory project for the recovery of native river habitats in a Mediterranean environment, through volunteering, stewardship and social participation, in which professional intervention is combined with the action and linkage of volunteers and citizens in the comprehensive recovery of the native riverside forest, the enhancement and diversification of native river habitats and the halt of the expansion of invasive exotic flora.
Each action integrates social participation and the training of volunteers on the ground, complements and gives meaning to the global intervention, through the exchange of knowledge and the promotion of joint work between the local administration and the entity and networking between the territories in which the Proyecto Ríos Network operates. following the guidelines and orientations of the land stewardship. In this way, it enables knowledge and effective social awareness and the adoption of measures to make uses and exploitation compatible with the conservation and recovery of the connectivity, structure and functionality of the natural river spaces and the wildlife of the Natura 2000 network, contributing to the preservation and maintenance of biodiversity.
