The project aims to promote marine biodiversity in schools.
The Submon entity has launched the project “Inland Sea: dissemination and education actions, in rural schools, on marine species and protected areas of Spanish waters” with the aim of promoting knowledge of marine biodiversity.
The aim is to disseminate knowledge of marine species and protected areas among students in Spanish rural schools in order to value the marine environment. Thus, within the framework of the project, 70 schools in 14 provinces (Teruel, Zaragoza, Navarra, La Rioja, Soria, Segovia, Burgos, Ávila, Toledo, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Cáceres, Badajoz and Madrid) of the seven autonomous communities of the Spanish state that do not have a coastline (Aragon, Navarra, La Rioja, Castilla León, Castilla La Mancha, Extremadura and Madrid) will be visited.
The activities that will be carried out within this initiative are:
- Holding talks and workshops in the classroom with content adapted to the educational curriculum
- Creation of a web platform to host educational content and audiovisual resources.
These educational materials, in addition to being available to all rural schools visited, can be downloaded by all Spanish rural schools.
