The Spanish National Research Council has launched the project “Anthos, plant information system in Spain”.

The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) has launched the project “Anthos, plant information system in Spain” with the intention of offering quality information on the country’s plant biodiversity in an accessible way to researchers, technicians from public administrations with responsibility for biodiversity management and the general public. thus contributing to its conservation.

In addition to obtaining the information, the initiative will carry out the management and computer development of the Anthos system (also for mobile devices) and dissemination work in publications and congresses or scientific meetings. Some of the activities that will be implemented within the framework of this project are:

  • Information acquisition work: review and search for bibliographic and taxonomic information and obtaining and editing plant images
  • IT management and development tasks: IT management and maintenance and development of Anthos on mobile devices
