The main objective of this project is to increase the capacity to adapt to climate change of Spanish organisations belonging to the timber trade and industry sector.

The main objective of this project of the Trade for Development Foundation-COPADE is to increase the capacity of Spanish organizations that belong to the wood trade and industry sector to adapt to climate change, while reducing their social footprint.

This is the second phase of the project “Integrating adaptation to climate change and the social footprint in the strategies of Spanish companies in the wood trade and industry sector”, which aims to achieve two objectives. On the one hand, it aims to develop guidelines and tools to implement climate change adaptation measures in companies. On the other hand, the measures and tools developed in the previous phases will be disseminated among companies in the wood sector.

Thus, the activities that have been launched involve incorporating the measures that were developed in phase one of the project in the different companies in the sector. In addition, tools will be developed to implement measures to improve the social footprint of these companies.

Teaching materials will also be designed and laid out to be uploaded to the websites of the three entities that collaborate with the project (COPADE, AEIM and Factor CO2). In addition, informative materials will be prepared for the dissemination of the tools and instruments developed, which will be sent to 150 organizations in the sector in Spain.

Finally, there will be a day to present the results of the initiative to the general public and especially to entities in the wood sector. In this same line of work, two working breakfasts will be held with six entities in the sector, during which the results of the project will be presented.
