“Inclusive volunteering: nature for all” is the name that the Association in favor of people with disabilities APROSUBA9 seeks to raise awareness about conservation and social inclusion.
“Inclusive volunteering: nature for all” is the name that INCLUSIVES has given to the initiative that it has carried out with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation d.
The association has developed aStewardship agreement in the SAC Río Guadiana Alto Zújar, belonging to the NATURA 2000 NETWORK, with the intention of creating a platform that integrates all local agents in its conservation and implements its management plan. Among others, the following have been carried out inclusive environmental education and volunteering actions, where people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities have collaborated with other associations and educational centers in the region.
In this way, INCLUSIVES has managed to sensitize and raise awareness among the local population about the integration and conservation of the environment, including all social agents in a common project and granting full rights to people with disabilities in the care of the natural environment.
This project has allowed the inclusion of disabled people in environmental volunteering actions: placing 26 nest boxes, planting 200 trees, collecting a ton of waste, carrying out analysis of the quality of the rivers, etc., thus improving the state of natural spaces. In addition, the signing of a land stewardship agreement with the City Council of Villanueva de la Serena makes it possible for the entity to increase its area of action.
