38 projects to take care of our beaches and rivers

MITECO

The Beaches, Rivers, Volunteering and Land Stewardship Programme of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, which began in 2012, has developed volunteering activities through nearly 60 entities. Thanks to this programme, a stable network of volunteers has been set up for the maintenance and improvement of natural spaces that has mobilised more than 16,000 people.

This initiative is part of the Coastal Conservation Action Programme and aims to promote the involvement of citizens in the conservation of the coastline and inter-community watersheds. In addition to promoting the participation of initiatives from private and business entities.

Throughout 2015, the role of citizen action in the conservation of the ecosystems associated with these areas is being promoted through clean-up days on beaches, trails and rivers. In total, 38 projects will be carried out this year, 24 in rivers and 14 on beaches, thanks to the work of 34 entities.

On this page we will tell you about the activities that these 34 entities will carry out over the next few months.
