The general objective of the Land Stewardship Platform is to promote the development of land stewardship as a tool for the conservation of natural, cultural and landscape resources throughout the Spanish State.

The Platform seeks to become a meeting place for all the networks and custody entities that carry out their activity in the Spanish State, providing them with support and encouraging them to continue working in this line. To this end, the Platform assumes participation as an essential feature for its successful achievement, for which it is counting on the collaboration of the actors of the stewardship movement, as well as other agents involved in the conservation and management of the territory.

Land stewardship is understood as a philosophy that seeks to facilitate voluntary initiatives for the conservation of nature, landscape and cultural heritage on private and municipal estates, and in which the main protagonists will be, on the one hand, an owner and, on the other, a stewardship entity that advises them to carry out management of their property aimed at the conservation of its values and resources.

The Land Stewardship Platform is a project of the Biodivesidad Foundation that develops a series of actions that try to respond to the needs of the stewardship movement. To strengthen its objectives and functions, an Advisory Council has been set up to act as a body of communication and consultation between the stewardship movement and the Foundation itself. This Council, which includes both entities and people linked to the stewardship and other agents related to the management of the territory (groups of hunters, farmers and ranchers, Public Administrations, etc.), serves as an advisory body in order to, among others, guide the actions of the Platform based on the main requirements of the stewardship movement in the Spanish State.
