“Rivers Project: knowing and conserving river ecosystems through volunteering in Catalonia”, developed by the Associació Habitats, with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation, aims to involve citizens in the knowledge, monitoring and conservation of river ecosystems through education and volunteering.
The Ríos Project has had a great social impact, which has resulted in the participation of 4,244 volunteers, organised into 156 volunteer groups with different social profiles. The volunteering action has made it possible to analyse 154 river sections of the different internal and community river basins of Catalonia. In addition, the RiusCat Report 2017 has been published.
