The project “Development of the local strategy for adaptation to climate change in Guadalajara” has been carried out by the city council of Guadalajara with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation, with the aim of implementing climate change adaptation mechanisms that contribute to sustainable development in the municipality.
This strategy contributes to the sustainable development of the municipality of Guadalajara (83,633 inhabitants) and is made up of sectoral plans with specific measures to achieve a reduction in GHG emissions by 40% for the trend scenario of 2030. The activities carried out have been: quantifying energy consumption and GHG emissions, identifyingCO2 sinks and designing municipalCO2 absorption projects and analysis of existing municipal regulations in each public sector, among others.
