Nature-Incore: Nature at the heart of decisions

MITECO

The Nature-Incore project arises with the purpose of training sustainability and environmental professionals and managers of companies of all sizes in the Community of Madrid and Catalonia in the natural capital approach, so that they can incorporate it into the company’s daily decision-making, through information and training on concepts, knowledge and tools.

DESCRIPTION: Especially after the unfortunate health crisis in which we are still embroiled, the evidence that the nature loss crisis we face is also an economic and financial crisis – with short-term and large-scale effects – is clearer than ever.

This has led to the growing recognition of thethe need for the business sector, the main beneficiary of the resources and services provided by natural ecosystems,Know Enoughits relationship with nature and contributes to its protection, maintenance and improvement. To this end, it is crucial that companies better identify, measure, assess and prioritize their impacts and dependencies on it; that is, that integrate nature into their decision-making.

Carrying out this mission is not easy. It requires time, knowledge and specific resources (human and material) that, with the appropriate theoretical and practical guidance, are feasible and affordable for any organization.

Nature-Incore offers an online training itinerary adapted to profilesbeginners, advanced or ambassadors of natural capital. More specifically, the defined training and training modules includeconcrete and approachable steps so that each profileWalk the path of natural capital depending on where you start. The objective of this action is to improve participants’ knowledge ofnatural capital approach andecosystem services, with particular emphasis on the importance of recognizing the value of ecosystem services,biodiversity.

Students will have materials aimed at:

DEEPEN your knowledge of the natural capital approach and its application in the company at all levels.

IDENTIFY the different business motivations for adopting the natural capital approach and its potential applications.

KNOW the risks and opportunities associated with natural capital.

ASSESS the scope of application of natural capital approaches: value chain, supply chain, assessment, measurement, valuation and communication of impacts and dependencies.

RECOGNIZE the natural assets and ecosystem services most relevant to their businesses.

INTRODUCE the concept of “nature-positve” and the definition of Science-Based Targets.

INTRODUCE natural capital accounting at the corporate or public level.

EXPLORE what tools exist and are most suitable for each training profile and business reality and how to use them in organizations.

UPDATE on regulatory frameworks in this area and global initiatives that work to provide guidance to companies on how to incorporate natural capital considerations into their processes and how to improve their environmental performance and reporting.
