The objective of the project is to promote the sustainable economic development of the Island of El Hierro, through the sustainable use of the island’s endogenous resources, both agri-food and cultural, landscape, ecological and tourism.

To this end, an attempt will be made to promote the integration into a complete cycle of the generators of quality agri-food products, hotel and tourist establishments and companies linked to the economic activity of active tourism.

The aim is to value our own quality agri-food products compared to those of other regions, which are the ones that are used most importantly in El Hierro establishments. The natural and landscape resources of the island will also be presented, most of which are unused and have the possibility of being used in the active tourism sector.

In short, it is a matter of identifying the endogenous resources that are underused and valuing them within the island’s business fabric, in order to promote a rational use of them that serves to generate economic fabric and allows the development of jobs of the so-called green employment.

In this way, it is intended to ensure that the three pillars of the island from the point of view of land use, agriculture, the environment and tourism, complement each other and generate synergies in the field of employment, economic development and the preservation of the natural and landscape values of the territory.

The recipients are mainly workers who belong to the hospitality sector, the agricultural and livestock sector, and the tourism sector, who seek to obtain income and employment in activities linked to agricultural and livestock resources, nature, landscape, and quality tourism.
