ESEX Project

Empleaverde program

The ESEX programme is made up of a set of training and dissemination actions whose objective is to provide appropriate training that allows companies from the construction sector related to energy (installers, maintainers, etc.) to reorient their activity towards the ESE model, companies whose mission is to reduce the energy consumption of their customers through the application of technology and the use of renewable energies.

The general objective of ESEX is to generate green jobs and contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions by retraining workers in the construction sector to this new model. Thus, new companies will have the necessary knowledge to carry out energy renovations of industries and buildings, helping to reduce energy dependence and the use of fossil fuels.

The aim is to help SMEs hit by the construction crisis to change their business model to that of Energy Service Companies, a model with good growth prospects that will also contribute to the necessary energy rehabilitation, which has a direct impact on the creation of green employment, the reduction of emissions and environmental commitment.

The recipients of the project are entrepreneurs and middle managers of SMEs, installers, maintainers, etc. in Extremadura whose activity has been reduced by the crisis in the construction sector and who are likely to reorient their activity towards the ESE model; professionals from renewable energy companies who, after the suppression of aid, see in the Energy Services business model a viable solution to redirect their activity; employees and entrepreneurs of newly created Energy Service Companies who seek advice and training to improve their professionalism and increase the efficiency and viability of their company and, therefore, who are likely to generate employment; and finally, entrepreneurs who are committed to this sector to start their activity.

The project has focused mainly on workers in economic sectors linked to the environment, with an emphasis on workers over 45 years of age and women. In this way, it is expected to reach 260 workers, providing training to 60 recipients and creating and/or converting companies related to the energy sector into 20 companies that operate under the Energy Services model.
