GEMCOPHOS

Empleaverde program

The “GEMCOFO” project aims to generate employment through awareness and training in three main lines of work, thus favouring and promoting the emergence of entrepreneurs and the generation of companies.

The “GEMCOFO” project aims to generate employment through awareness and training in three main lines of work, thus favouring and promoting the emergence of entrepreneurs and the generation of companies.

These three lines of work are renewable energies (biomass), the use of natural resources (sustainable wood-based products) and sustainable tourism.

The initiative aims to act in five regions of forest influence, or its resources, of different autonomous communities, with the purpose of generating new companies or new lines of business in each of them from the use of the most sustainable and modern forest resources.

All this will allow us to offer products and services in a way that is more in line with the demands of today’s society.

The project’s actions will be developed on three levels.

  • Level 1: Awareness and dissemination
  • Level 2: General Training
  • Level 3: Specific training

The project, in its general awareness phase, is aimed at the entire active working population and a small percentage of unemployed people in the regions of forest influence or its resources.

More specifically, the target audience of the project is the population of the forestry sector or its associated industry – obviously rural population – who can create companies or open new lines of business, taking advantage of the new opportunities offered by forest resources within the three lines of work of the project.

The results that will be achieved with the project are:

  • Training of 285 recipients, although the initiative will reach 1,611 workers.
  • Creation of 18 companies or new lines of business linked to the forestry sector or its industry, which use forest resources in a sustainable way.
