The actions will focus on sustainable tourism, through the analysis of factors influencing the environmental degeneration of strategic tourist areas on the Spanish coast and the study and comparison of developmental, speculative and aggressive tourism models applied in certain coastal regions. Recreational nautical tourism actions and active leisure or sustainable tourism proposals will take on special importance, positioned as key allies of society in the enhancement of the natural resources existing on the coast.
Its status as a generator of environmental assets places it in a privileged position to lead a current of change that brings together public administrations, companies and civil society, in a commitment to the sustainable revitalization of the coast, guaranteeing the integrity of ecosystems and capitalizing on the opportunities linked to the blue economy. The project aims to develop its action in the different marine areas of the Mar Menor and the rest of the Murcian coast, Cabo de Gata and waters of the Strait, as well as Ceuta and Melilla, recognised as SCI/SAC and SPA areas of singular interest.
