OBJECTIVE: To improve the skills and aptitudes of the unemployed.
DESCRIPTION: The course will enable the student to conduct wildfire simulation studies using specialized programs in modeling these events and learn how to use related computer programs. The development of simulation techniques applied to the strategic prevention of forest fires as a means for sustainable forest management is booming in the forestry sector and is beginning to be directly demanded by the competent administrations in the field, with a certain deficit of knowledge in this regard in the professional sector today. The proposed project, “GIS and LIDAR technologies applied to the prevention and extinction of forest fires”, is carried out as a means of “Sustainable Forest Management” and is aligned with policies on the protection of natural heritage, biodiversity, forests, water, the fight against climate change, pollution prevention, etc. as well as the policies to face the demographic challenge and territorial depopulation and meets the double objective of the Empleaverde Program. 7 training courses and 7 counselling sessions will be carried out.
