PROJECT NAME: Sustainable professional mobility. Improvement of the skills of professionals who drive vehicles in the city.

OBJECTIVES: to improve the capacity of urban freight carriers to guide their purchasing and action decision-making in line with the new sustainable mobility policies, improve their energy habits and savings and competitiveness capacity.

DESCRIPTION: Urban air quality policies entail the adoption of strong traffic control measures, loading/unloading, restriction/incentivisation of vehicles, technologies, fuels, etc., which can become an opportunity to improve employment and competitiveness for transporters, most of whom are self-employed.

The main barrier to this is the lack of information for the group, which does not have the time or facilities for continuous training. The project consists of carrying out an on-line practical training course adapted to the group, which trains 400 carriers in 4 autonomous regions, taking into account:

1. European commitments on climate change and air quality.

2. The objectives of the policies of the administrations involved: DGT, IDAE, OECC, SUPP…

3. The needs of its main customers: courier, distribution, maintenance companies…

4. The current offer and planned innovation in vehicles, infrastructures, fuels…
