OBJECTIVE
The project aims to improve the employability of forest management professionals through training in biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation, thus contributing to the transition to a green economy.
DESCRIPTION
To address these challenges, a new management model is needed, where professionals in the sector incorporate into their activity:
Identification and knowledge of those enclaves that, due to their high degree of naturalness, are of great value when determining the state of conservation of the forest habitats included in the Natura 2000 Network and that can be used as a model.
Incorporation of conservation and adaptation objectives to climate change in forest planning and management.
Specifically, the project seeks to:
1) To improve the competencies of forest management professionals in 3 areas:
to. Prospecting and characterization of mature forests.
b. Forest planning with conservation and adaptation objectives to climate change.
c. Forestry close to nature.
2) Promote the adaptation of the recipients to change, to be in tune with the labor market, through:
to. The exchange of experiences and networking.
b. The implementation of innovative management criteria and tools.
c. The analysis of successful pilot actions.
