The mouth of the Algar River is a coastal wetland with a high ecological, social and landscape value. The high anthropogenic pressure, the presence of invasive alien species and the significant risk of flooding negatively affect its ecological status and the social perception of the population. PREDRA proposes the ecological restoration of the last section of the Algar River, eliminating invasive species, recovering the riverside vegetation and increasing the lamination capacity of the channel, to mitigate flood damage.
