The Biodiversity Foundation, the managing body of the European Social Fund (F.S.E.), opens the period for the submission of proposals to sign collaboration agreements during 2007, both with public entities and with private non-profit entities.

The purpose of these agreements is the execution of training, awareness-raising and analysis of training needs and the creation of structures, included in the Operational Programme “Business Initiative and Continuous Training” Objectives 1 and 3 of the F.S.E. Basically, it seeks to train and raise awareness among workers of SMEs on aspects related to the environment.

The Biodiversity Foundation suggests thematic areas and target groups in which the collaboration proposals can be framed. Thus, the proposed topics are: water resources, water supply and sanitation; waste, impact of economic activities; and sustainable use of natural resources, among others.

The deadline for submitting proposals is 10 November 2006. Applications must be sent or submitted to the International Department, Area F.S.E., of the Biodiversity Foundation, C/ Fortuny 7, 28010 Madrid.
