The IRIS-Circular project pursues the professional retraining of workers in areas linked to the fair ecological transition, addressing the possibilities of the circular economy in rural areas of Castilla y León and La Rioja.
To achieve this, the project consists of a set of sixty training actions, specialised advice, individualised accompaniment, communities of practice and specific social innovation actions that, over the two years of the project, will reach several hundred people in rural areas in various territories of La Rioja and Castilla y León. with special emphasis on groups in vulnerable situations.
In this sense, the project integrates three key dimensions for rural development, such as economic, environmental and social, positioning the circular economy as one of the potential poles of employment in the rural environment and training people so that they can develop the jobs of the future, characterised by respect for nature, people and the rural environment.
