The main objective of the project is to reduce the amount of textile waste that ends up in landfills or incinerators in the Balearic Islands through a first process of manual selection of garments that can be reused and a second process of separation and optical classification of garments not initially selected.

The main result proposed is to treat 20,000 tonnes of textile waste per year, preventing 34% of the textile waste generated in the Balearic Islands from ending up in landfill or incinerator, however, these figures will not be reached until at least 5 years after the new line is put into operation.
