1st Economic Technician (temporary) of the Research and Climate Change Area

Participate in the monitoring, execution and closure of projects that contribute to the generation of scientific knowledge and the improvement of biodiversity, both on land and in the sea, within the framework of the calls and programmes financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Ensure the best use of the resources of the different calls for aid or public contracts in which it participates.

In relation to the Calls for Grants executed by the Biodiversity Foundation and the own projects it carries out, the selected person will perform the following functions:

  • Participation in the preparation of documents associated with calls for subsidies and tenders. Resolve doubts to the applicant and beneficiary entities.
  • Evaluation of the proposals submitted to the calls and tenders.
  • Training, accompaniment and assistance to the beneficiary entities during the presentation, execution, justification and settlement of the projects.
  • Support in economic monitoring during the execution of projects. Support to the technical team and the beneficiaries of the grants during the implementation of the projects, as well as the final justification phase.
  • Review of the eligibility and regularity of 100% of the expenditure declared by the aid beneficiaries, verifying the reality of the payments and their compliance with the applicable regional, national and Community regulations, as well as with the conditions of approval of the aid.
  • Creation, management and justification of own projects.
  • Preparation of documentation (reports, databases, presentations, graphic material, notifications, etc.) and attendance at meetings related to the evaluation, monitoring and control of assigned projects.
  • Telephone and email assistance to the beneficiaries of aid.
  • Control and management of files through the Biodiversity Foundation’s project management computer tool.
  • Preparation of proposals for improvement and contribution to the better performance of project evaluation, monitoring and control tasks.
  • Organization and occasional attendance at events related to the theme of grants and projects.
  • Monitoring of developments in terms of regulations, strategies, plans, programmes or projects related to the management and/or subject matter of grants and projects.
  • Any other function inherent to the management of projects executed by the Fundación Biodiversidad.
  • Bachelor’s degree (also former Diplomatura and Licenciatura).
  • Experience of at least three years in the performance of administrative and economic management tasks of projects.
  • Knowledge of regulations in relation to the management of public aid and administrative management.
  • Experience of at least two years in the management of calls and public funds linked to the environment.
  • Experience of at least three years in the management of European funds.
  • Specific training and/or experience in the environmental third sector.
  • Knowledge of the evaluation of economic proposals, as well as both technical and economic justification of projects.
  • Advanced knowledge in database management and computer tools for integrated project management.
  • Mastery of the Microsoft environment (Onedrive, Sharepoint, Planner, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) at the user level and other IT tools for project management.
  • Fixed-term temporary contract for the execution of projects financed with European Union funds (fifth additional provision of Royal Decree-Law 32/2021), with the professional category of first-class technician.
  • Location of the position: headquarters of the Biodiversity Foundation in Madrid, with partial teleworking
  • Gross Annual Salary: €32,559.07.
  • Initially planned duration: end of 2029.
