Recovery of Bonelli’s Eagle Populations (LIFEABILAS)

LIFE

  • The project aims to recover the almost extinct population of Bonelli’s Eagle on the island of Sardinia and minimize the factors that harm its survival, counting on specimens bred in captivity in Spain and GREFA’s experience in this matter.
  • To this end, it will contribute to the reduction of mortality through the identification, characterization and subsequent correction of power lines, the population will be reinforced with the reintroduction of specimens from the GREFA captive breeding center and radio-tagged released specimens will be monitored with GPS transmitters.
