The project will strengthen the State Network of Public Forests as a tool for governance and inter-administrative cooperation for sustainable forest management and the promotion of the bioeconomy in the forest field.
To consolidate itself as a space for cooperation between the managing entities and owners of public forests, which increases society’s recognition of these forests, the public forest management carried out in them and the goods and services derived from it, within the framework of the fight against climate change, the conservation of biodiversity and the demographic challenge.
Among the expected results are: the consolidation of 8 permanent jobs in the technical office, the updating of information on 7 million hectares of forests of public utility and 1 million hectares of heritage forests, the incorporation of 252 new good practices in the catalogue, the holding of 20 webinars (≈800 participants) and 8 training campuses (≈160 participants), the organization of 11 technical conferences (≈500 attendees), 2 state congresses (≈200 attendees) and 7 regional meetings to advise owner entities. In addition to the preparation of an updated regulatory repository, 3 models of base specifications and a continuity plan for the REMP.
