REVEAL. Agrosilvopastoral generational renewal for green infrastructure.

FEDER

The RELEVA project aims to promote generational renewal aimed at the multifunctionality of the territory. To this end, it will create an organisational axis made up of 3 generational renewal nodes and will design specific succession protocols for extensive livestock farms that include the design and development of a knowledge platform, from which it will be possible to recruit successors, technical and environmental improvements and training and entrepreneurship activities. In addition, the nodes will promote its direct application and will consider the implementation of at least 10 real initiatives, and a training micro-credential of “Expert in generational renewal” will be created. With all this, it is intended to achieve the implementation of multifunctional solutions in at least 15 farms, prioritizing those with succession processes underway and potential to become living nodes of agroecological restoration, in addition to the implementation of a training program focused on improving efficiency, sustainability and innovation in management.

The RELEVA project will promote generational renewal as a driver of green bioeconomy and territorial multifunctionality. It will launch a network of territorial nodes in key areas for green infrastructure, with shared governance and equitable access to knowledge. A succession protocol will be drawn up with ecological and social criteria), and productive and environmental improvements will be implemented in relief farms. The incorporation of young people and women, access to services and land, and agroecological entrepreneurship will be facilitated. Applied knowledge will be generated through microcredentials, multifunctional evaluation in pilot farms and characterization of successor profiles, with replicable measures and high ecosystem impact.

Promote a structural transition towards a sustainable territorial bioeconomy by promoting generational renewal in agrosilvopastoral farms, articulating networks of accompaniment, training and technical advice. The project seeks to consolidate multifunctional farms that integrate production, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services and territorial cohesion, especially in those areas of greatest importance for green infrastructure. Through territorial nodes, a collaborative digital platform, succession protocols, specialized training and new business models, RELEVA lays the foundations for a viable generational renewal with special attention to female leadership, social innovation and the valorization of natural resources. This comprehensive strategy will contribute to fixing population, improving profitability, restoring ecosystems and increasing the resilience of rural areas to depopulation and climate change.

The main objective is focused on promoting generational renewal aimed at the multifunctionality of the territory.

  • Proposal for the creation of 3 generational renewal nodes aimed at the multifunctionality of the territory. Each node will have an expert in generational renewal with specific succession protocols for extensive livestock farms to facilitate generational renewal processes. It includes the recruitment and integration of new successors through the identification and visibility of opportunities, land bank, succession opportunities, rural employment exchange, characterization study of these new successor profiles and personalized itineraries.
  • Design and development of the knowledge platform, and formation of the network, interconnect experiences and territorial and sectoral networking. From the digital platform, the recruitment of successors, technical and environmental improvement, training, entrepreneurship, consolidation of new business models, and permanent communication with the sector and local actors, links with the productive ecosystem: auxiliary companies (veterinary services, feedlots, slaughterhouses), input suppliers, logistics networks and marketing channels will be carried out.
  • Good practices will be disseminated: improvement of grasslands, cultivated and natural biodiversity; Ecological connectivity and functionality of mosaic landscapes; Fire prevention through agrosilvopastoral management; Promotion of the ecological connectivity of green infrastructures. The nodes will promote its direct application, its economic valuation (through grants, certifications or other sources) and its integration into the business models of the new holders.
  • They consider the implementation of at least ten real initiatives, arising from the training and accompaniment pilots, which will receive personalized follow-up to guarantee their consolidation. These experiences will constitute replicable models.
  • It also includes the development of a training micro-credential of “Expert in Generational Renewal”, which will combine a practical, up-to-date approach aligned with the priorities of the project, the creation of a community of experts with networking capacity and a protocol for evaluating the success of generational renewal.
  • The implementation of multifunctional solutions is expected in at least 15 farms (750 Ha of improvement in multifunctional management, 75 Ha of which green infrastructure).
