New system for the sustainable reuse and reduction of plastics (INNOPLASTIC)

PRTR Call for Proposals Project

The project will implement a system for the collection, processing and reuse of plastic waste from the current production of cable cover. Specifically, it will be possible to recycle and revalue 80% of the purges and waste that are currently discarded and to manufacture new conductors with 90% raw material and 10% recycled plastic, compared to the current ones that are composed of 100% virgin plastic raw material. Likewise, the new process will make it possible to eliminate plastics in the packaging of new marketed plastics.

The main objective of this project is to reduce the use of virgin raw materials (plastic) in the cable manufacturing and production process. The company will be able to do this by recovering and transforming plastic materials into raw materials that can be reused through the acquisition of machinery: mills, micronisers, cable and plastic separators, compounding line, extrusion heads and extruders. In addition, they will remove the film from the packaging to coat the cables.

The project focuses on the acquisition and implementation of this machinery to modify the entity’s production process and make it more circular.
