Eco-design and circularity through the use of recycled materials for the sustainable manufacture of bleach packaging

PRTR Call for Proposals Project

The ECOrHDPE project contemplates the realization of investments aimed at protecting the environment, specifically, in terms of the manufacture of new sustainable packaging composed of up to 70% recycled HDPE resistant to the storage of hazardous substances, such as bleach, in addition to applying eco-design concepts to reduce the use of material and its weight. These containers must maintain the technical characteristics of the current ones, guaranteeing resistance and safety.

The general objective of the project is to manufacture high-density polyethylene (HDPE) packaging for cleaning products (hazardous substances such as bleach) in a more sustainable way, applying circularity criteria, through the replacement of up to 70% of virgin raw materials with recycled material.

In addition, eco-design concepts will be applied in blow moulds with the aim of reducing material consumption by up to 15% for each bottle manufactured, thus minimising the consumption of virgin raw materials in two different ways.
