New recycling line for polypropylene Big Bags to obtain high-quality pellets

PRTR Call for Proposals Project

This project addresses one of the main challenges of recycling: the reuse of polypropylene (PP) from Big Bags (FIBC) with the necessary quality for its reincorporation into the production cycle. FIBCs made of PP are difficult to recycle, especially when they contain layers of PE and there are no solutions that can recycle them and obtain an rPP pellet with the necessary quality for reuse. This project proposes a new recycling line with shredding, screening, optical separation, shredding and extrusion with viscoZero in a new plant that allows the production of high quality rPP due to the automatic separation of FIBCs containing a PE inner sheet from those that do not and the increase in the residence time of the material during extrusion.
