Design of an innovative line for the recycling and reintroduction of polystyrene into the food chain as packaging, using advanced decontamination and purification processes

PRTR Call for Proposals Project

The project carries out the development and implementation of a new innovative line for the recycling of polystyrene, integrating advanced technologies to ensure its decontamination and purification, which include optical separation systems and artificial intelligence to guarantee the quality and origin of the recycled material, thus allowing its future reintroduction in food packaging. This initiative thus contributes to the reduction of plastic waste and promotes the circular economy by reincorporating recycled polystyrene into the packaging production chain.
