Existing European funds are of particular importance for nature conservation
. This is the case of the NextGenerationEU Recovery Plan for Europe, which develops the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for the period 2021-2027, in which funds such as the European Social Fund Plus, the European Regional Development Fund, the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development are developed. the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund, the LIFE Programme and Horizon
Europe. The Biodiversity Foundation is an intermediate body and/or manages various
European funds. All of them, in addition, allow the mobilization of private funds and investment.
On the other hand, the European Union has established itself as a benchmark in the incorporation of
biodiversity into economic and financial policies. Instruments such as the European Green Deal
, the 2030 Biodiversity Strategy, the Nature Restoration
Regulation or the EU Taxonomy converge on the same message: the mobilisation of
private finance is essential to meet the European objectives of restoration and
strengthening of resilience.
Ensuring adequate funding for the actions necessary for the conservation of
natural heritage and biodiversity requires making the most of
the funding opportunities presented at the European level.
The Foundation seeks to incorporate a Business Commitment Coordination in charge of
designing, promoting and consolidating the strategic relationship with European companies, financial institutions and
institutions to promote their active involvement in the
conservation and restoration of biodiversity. The position combines the corporate dimension with that of sustainable finance, with the
aim of mobilizing private capital, generating high-impact alliances and positioning the Foundation
as a benchmark in public-private collaboration for nature.
