The project “Green Impulse in Construction: New skills for a sector in transformation” is a training initiative designed to respond to the challenges of the ecological transition in construction, promoted by the Associació Comarcal d’Empresaris del Berguedà (ACEB) in strategic collaboration with the Gremi de la Bioconstrucció de Catalunya and with the support of the Avià City Council and the Berguedà County Council.

Its main objective is to train 210 workers through 815 hours of theoretical and practical training to promote a green and efficient sector. The programme, which will be taught for two years in various rural municipalities in the four Catalan provinces to maximise its territorial reach, consists of 14 actions specialising in energy rehabilitation and efficiency. These trainings range from ecological insulation (SATE) and passive savings systems, to airtightness tests (Blower Door), ecological coatings, green roofs, rehabilitation of historic buildings and business eco-innovation.

The relevance of this initiative lies in the urgent need to decarbonise the building stock, closing the current skills gap to generate qualified employment in the green economy. In addition, the project acts as the executing arm of the ACEB’s Energy Transition Office and feeds directly into Firhabitat (Catalonia’s bio-construction fair): while the fair creates demand by showcasing innovations in the sector, “Green Impulse” generates the supply of trained professionals necessary to implement these projects, contributing in an integral way to the economic and environmental sustainability of Berguedà and Catalonia.
