The twelfth Management Committee of the LIFE SHARA project held its meeting online on 29 June.
Yesterday the meeting of the twelfth Management Committee of the LIFE SHARA project was held, this time telematically and attended by representatives of all the project partners. The Management Committee is made up of representatives of the Biodiversity Foundation, the Spanish Office for Climate Change (OECC), the National Centre for Environmental Education (CENEAM), the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) and the Portuguese Agency for the Environment (APA).
In this meeting, in addition to a general review of the state of the project, it has been specifically analysed how it has been affected by COVID-19, examining the best way to reschedule milestones and actions between now and the end of the project in 2021.
In this sense, in the coming months the project will continue with the informative breakfasts for journalists and will start a series of online sessions on “Tools for adaptation to climate change”. In addition, towards the end of the year we will hold the First Iberian Conference on Adaptation to Climate Change virtually. Looking ahead to next year, the project will develop two specific trainings on adaptation, hold its last sectoral seminar and complete the production of another 15 climate change adaptation initiatives. In parallel, and throughout the project, work will continue to monitor and make improvements to the AdapteCCa Platform, as well as to the Climate Change Scenario Viewer.
